Milvus & Vector Database Deployment
Vector search infrastructure your AI product can rely on. We deploy Milvus and other vector databases for RAG and AI search products: installation, index configuration, backups, monitoring, and the connection to your application.

Milvus & Vector Database Deployment
What this engagement is for
When a RAG prototype outgrows a hosted demo, the vector database becomes production infrastructure. We deploy Milvus (standalone or clustered, typically with Docker), configure collections and indexes for your embedding model and query load, set up the Attu management UI where useful, and put backups and monitoring in place so a failed disk or a bad deploy does not silently take your AI search down.

AI
- Best for
- AI and RAG products that need self-hosted vector search for cost, data-control, or scale reasons.
- Typical timeline
- 1–4 weeks depending on standalone vs clustered deployment

Outcomes
What you leave with
We measure the work by the product decisions and assets you can use next — not by a slide deck.
A Milvus deployment sized for your data and query volume
Collections and indexes matched to your embedding model
Backups and restore steps that have actually been tested
Monitoring so index or disk problems surface early
How we work
A short path from conversation to something real.
- 1
Assess the workload
We look at vector count, dimensions, query rate, and latency targets before choosing a topology.
- 2
Deploy and connect
We install Milvus, create collections, and verify ingestion and search from your application.
- 3
Harden and hand over
Backups, monitoring, and a runbook your team can operate without us.

Deliverables
What we produce
- Milvus installation (Docker Compose or Kubernetes guidance)
- Collection, index, and consistency configuration
- Application connection and ingestion checks
- Backup, monitoring, and operations runbook
Questions
Before you start
Managed services are simpler at small scale. Self-hosting usually wins on cost at volume or when data must stay on your infrastructure. We will recommend based on your numbers, not a preference.
Yes. Embeddings usually need to be regenerated or copied depending on the source; we plan the migration so search keeps working during the switch.
RAG and AI search products whose vector data is growing, or whose data cannot leave their own servers.
Your embedding model and dimensions, approximate vector count and growth, query volume, and where the database should run.
